About Marty
Marty Marks is the quintessential Realtor; a highly respected leader in her industry and her community. She maintains an outstanding career by offering unwavering dedication and unsurpassed expertise to her clients. She served as President of the Metro-Tex Association of Realtors, received awards for Salesperson of the Year, Community Service Award of the Year and was recently designated as Realtor Emeritus by the National Association of Realtors. Virginia Cook, Realtors awarded her the Volunteer of the Year and D Magazine has named her as Best Realtor for innumerable years.
With scholarship and part-time work, she graduated from The University of Texas in Austin; the first in her extended family to graduate from college. She then moved to Dallas to teach Spanish at Highland Park High School. Before long, she entered the entrepreneurial world of residential real estate with the mentorship of Virginia Cook, Sheila Rice and other women who functioned in the business world. These women had the best attributes of strong leadership with community and family in mind.
Grateful for her good fortune, she decided to gravitate toward making a significant difference in her community. Bicultural, bilingual and growing up in financial instability, she realized that education, hard work and exceptional mentors were keys to a successful future, and she decided to share this knowledge. She served as Officer and Board Member of various nonprofits, including Girl Scouts, Senior Source, Dallas Women’s Foundation and recently Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas. Her goal has been to help women and girls in particular to find their voices, to take pride in their unique qualities and to chart their own paths through education, hard work and passion. She is honored to have received the Audrey Kaplan Inspiring Women of the Southwest Award.
“I was intrigued by real estate as a career because I have always had an entrepreneurial
spirit,” says Marty. “But I most enjoy the one-on-one relationships I share with my clients. So
many have become close friends and continue to recommend me to several generations of
